Producer AVI layer over Video-How?

Postby videogal » Tue Mar 04, 2008 3:20 pm

How do I put a layer of Proshow AVI or mov (I like the effects for the captions) over a background of video in Premiere or
any other program?

When I do it, of course the Proshow avi. blocks the video.

I haven't worked with alpha channels, etc. What am I looking to do?

Thanks for any help?

I don't think you can create a transparent background in Proshow, so
assuming what you mean is you want to use Proshow as a title generator
for Premiere, you would have to put the titles etc on a solid color background
then either chroma-key or luma key in Premiere to drop the colored
background. The problem with Gold is you can't save as an uncompressed
avi, so you are going to be starting with a compressed source with your
titles in it. Makes it more difficult, but still should work. If anyone else
knows a better way ??

You can't have too many gadgets or too much disk space !!

I do have Producer so I will try doing a chroma-key luma key in Premiere.
I've never done that so I'll do some searching for some instructions.

If anyone has some quick idea of where to look please let me know.

Any other suggestions, too?
