Adjustment effect - Feature focus demo

Postby noddie on Tue Mar 09, 2010 7:49 pm

Hi again

I would love to know how to get the effect of the four grey boxes which appear on the screen and then become images on the Photodex site for Demos - Feature focus Adjustments effect. The effect is wonderful and I would
love to be able to do something similar if anyone can help me with it. I was thinking maybe you create four gradients, then they change but I do not know how to accomplish this.
Much appreciated

Gwen,

Here's what I'm thinking. There are 4 masks on 4 images (all the same), all in the same position. Each image has an adjustment layer on it. Since there are 4 mask sets they can easily reposition each box independently and fade out the effect of the adjustment layer and fade in a new image in each box. It just takes a bit of coordination with the keyframes and a bit of time and some planning. Nice effect if used right and well worth pursuing if you're trying to get a good handle on keyframing. None of the images being masked moved .... only the masking box

Oh, I should say that there is a 5th image and it's in a layer below all of the mask sets. That's why the whole background goes white and at the point when all of the boxes move along the bottom. The quick movement of the boxes hides the transition from the original image (portion) in that box to the new image that's sized to fit inside of it.
