audio edit issue

When I try to edit any of the provided music in Adobe Audition I get an error message; "Error:The byte stream type of the given URL is unsupported." Any suggestions?

By "provided music" do you mean the music that comes from the ProShow Music Library ?
That music is in a proprietary format that only ProShow can use.
Besides, the terms and conditions of the Music Library do not allow you to edit the audio in any other 3rd party program.
All the editing must be done in ProShow.
