Need Song Ideas for Company Slideshow

Hello All -

I am working on a slideshow for an upcoming company party. The show will consist of project pictures (we are a construction company) as well as photos of employees. I want a really strong song to start off the project photos with. I was thinking something by AC/DC or some other rock band. But the words to most of their songs don't really fit. I don't know that it matters. I just want something with a really good beat, and I want it to make people feel good. Any ideas? Also, any ideas for the people section? I currently have the Black Eyed Peas, "I've Got a Feeling" in there. It has a nice beat to start the people pictures really fast, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Hey Jennifer,
You sound like me sometimes when I find songs and then get hung up cause the words are just not right.
I have found after numerous shows that you can't always find a song that has all the perfect words.
I just make sure there are not "spicy" words or suggestions which you find with a lot of the new songs.

What comes to mind at first for construction is:

-Bay City Rollers, "We built this city"
-AC/DC - "TNT"

For the people and other sections, you know your crowd a lot better so the type of music depends on that sometimes.

For people sections, I have used the Pussycat Dolls, "When I grow up", which is a catchy beat and fun.

I like to use a lot of the new country songs since they have great words and good beats. You can email me at

Thank you to everyone for all of the suggestions. I'm going to plop in a few of these songs and see how they work with my pictures. Again, I really appreciate all the ideas from everyone.

IMHO - I just think that for a company you should use an instrumental.

I agree -- I'd use an instrumental.

Also, if you use commercial music, be careful how the slide show gets used. You've got a couple rights issues in there and if the company would for instance want to give copies to people or use it in some way they shouldn't do that.

I agree, I think you have to go with royalty-free music on this one. I would not take the chance for the company. Digital Juice had some for free a while back but I just checked the website and could not find them? I used them for a similar type of show one time. Check out the site b/c maybe I just missed them somewhere. The two that might work are called Power Sweep and Hero's Journey.
