You Tube Audio Swap

Postby Bevie » Mon Apr 15, 2013 7:04 am

Does anyone here know where there might be a list of You Tube Audio Swap Songs on the internet?

I've started using Audio Swap as a way of (hopefully) providing a music background to my slideshows that won't be flagged by YouTube or Facebook. But it's really time consuming trying to find an appropriate song. I've searched the internet and haven't found any such 'list' yet but did get to see what Audio Swap used to look like back in 2008 ? or so? It seemed the way You Tube Audio Swap was set up back then was actually better than the way it is now. You were given more options. Now you get just a short list and have to keep searching.

Any one have any advice? I've found free music on the internet like Kevin's Incompetech which is a real 'find' :D But still use Audio Swap to avoid any embarrassing situations when creating a slideshow for someone else. It causes a lot of hassle when your music gets flagged.

Thanks for all your help in advance :D

I've never used that feature of YT but I just did a search on the YT site and found this video which after watching the first few seconds or so, seems to explain it though I didn't watch the entire tutorial.

Good luck.

Hi Bevie,

I've used YouTube's music just once, because I was curious about this feature.
Ar first it looked promising, but afterwards I noticed that they use this method to promote the artists, so they do place some advertising note next to your video.
Their music is not Royalty Free.
You have to decide if you wish to see such an ad next to your video, or not.

Thanks Cherub and Debnagar : D

I watched the YouTube Video that you posted the link to Deb. It was an explaination of how to use Audio Swap but also was promoting another site called Track One Recordings http://www.trackonerecordings.com I visited their website and they do have a lot of songs that you can download to use on your You Tube videos, all seem to be made electronically ? (that's probably not the correct term).

Maybe someone will find this Track One Recordings website useful. It's definitely worth while looking into.

I don't mind so much that YouTube puts an ad on my video - I think people realize that it's something that you 'just have to put up with.'

In the past I used Animoto and once got one of my slideshows taken down on Facebook because they said it was under copyright - even though I had used the music that Animoto had in their library.

At least with YouTube you can write them and state your 'case' and they get back to you fairly quickly. You Tube 'froze' one of my Pro Show Web videos as well once but I I proved I had the rights to use the song and they released my video again. Facebook never returned my emails or answered my questions.

It could be if your show is on YT and that show link is put in a Facebook post, then maybe FB won't bother with the show as YT will be the ones to send their concerns about alleged copyright infringements.

I never upload slideshows to FB but paste YT links of my shows into my FB posts instead. YT occasionally "flags" my videos for alleged music infringement claims but I reply back to YT stating the company through which I licensed the royalty free music. In addition I put that information on the end of the video AND include the music license information in the description as well. I've never heard back from YT formally but they've always removed the flag from the video once I dispute the claim.

FYI - It's been my experience that any show I've uploaded to YT that uses classical music gets instantly flagged within moments of being uploaded, even though I paid for the royalty free music license to use it.

A number of us have had this experience. It's an agency that apparently has bought the rights to gobs of arrangements of classical stuff, and the little sniffer animal scanning everyone's music is constantly flagging music in the name of that agency. So far, I haven't had a problem with my own classical arrangements, but it'll probably happen.

Bevie, feel free to use the Frame Locker's music. If you have any problems with YouTube, I'll personally throw pie in every one of their faces. :D

ebbixx who responded on this link - seemed to have the best answer as to why there is no long list for YouTube Audio Swap songs.
