April Challenge: The Toronto Incident

Postby Cary » Sun Apr 06, 2008 9:13 pm

Scratch, Scratch, Scratch !!!

Like many people on this forum, I have been scratching my head trying to think of what to do with 30 non-descript images to create some semblance of a coherent slideshow for the April Challenge that might be interesting. Making it even more difficult, was the constraint of keeping third party software usage to a minimum.

While watching TV the other night, I saw a commercial for HP for their “What Do You Have To Say” campaign that featured Gwen Stefani saying:

“People might think you can turn creativity on and off. But it’s not like that. It just kind of comes out, a mash-up of all things you collect in your mind.

You never know when it’s going to happen.

But when it does, it’s like magic. Its just that simple and it’s just that hard.”

So here is my take on the April Challenge, which is a mash-up off all the strange things floating around in my head that for some reason, even unbeknownst to me, was inspired by these 30 odd photos. The show is just over 2 minutes long and has very limited effects.

I call it “The Toronto Incident.”

Music is by Bernard Herman, a 4 time Academy Award winning composer with some additional editing and sound effects by me.

Great use of the soundtrack, kept me in suspense of what was going to happen.

Oh well, back to the 2 slides that i've only done :(

Thanks for all the nice comments.

It is really great to see the different styles and techniques that everyone uses. Even better is learning and the sharing from everyone in the forum.
