Found "The Chair"

Wed Apr 11, 2012 11:44 am

It took some digging, but I finally found the "The Chair," which was created ages ago and was popular here on the forum. The old guard here has seen it, but there are plenty of new members who might enjoy an allegorical children's story.

At The Playground (which seems appropriate): The Chair

Thanks, Robert.

After not having seen it for a long time, its basic moves surprised me--just simple slides with fades in between--and I wondered if I would have done it differently if I'd had the power of version 5 behind me. The other thing that surprised me was its standard rather than widescreen format. I'd forgotten how, when I first started using Producer, most of us used standard.

Fancy effects would have distracted from the story in this case. Sometimes simple works best. At least in this show, for me, it did. I would have probably missed the beautiful subtle color changes of the seasons, what they represented. It's as good now as it it was when first posted.

It's a truism that's becoming ever more difficult to remember these days. All those effects clammering to be used! Back in the sixties, I went on some sort of hippie-dippie diet and ended up going to the doctor because things weren't going so well. He reminded me that all foods are good, but in moderation, please! Same goes for special effects. Not too much, and suitable for the subject's body. :D

WOW! I kept wondering what would happed next!
And, my imagination was busy at work, piecing together
bits of the story and getting ahead of the story. If, I
imagined correctly, the story didn't verify it. LOL
Is that your voice?

Yes, that's me doing the narration. When my son was a little fellow and I'd read to him, I'd do it with all kinds of color and flavor, but put a microphone in front of me, and I have to do multiple takes to keep from sounding like a block of wood. :(

Thank you, Penny!

I really need to take a break to go through the other shows I've archived on CD's, given that I've stopped using the Photodex server because it requires the use of Presenter. The plug-in provides excellent resolution but non-users of ProShow must download and install it. I've found a lot of resistance to that.
