Been out of the fold for the last 6 months or so working on various projects. Just getting my act back together. Here is an old show updated with some recent images. Hope to post more shows soon.

Very nice - great shots!! I know how tough it is to get some of those shots (you must have as one person puts it "more glass than I dare tell my wife about" ). While I have heard some owls when we have been out camping around here, I have yet to see one in the wild - much less get close enough to get some shots like you did!

Thanks all for the comments.

gpsmikey - the vast majority of the shots were taken with a 100-400mm f4.5-6.7 zoom. The others with a 300mm f2.8. Loved your comment about the wife

Beautiful birds! Your photography is outstanding with some excellently timed in-flight shots. Your show moves along at perfect pace with superb music track. Must view again!

Love your gorgeous bird shots in the show Mike. :) I'd love to have a 400mm for those kinds of bird shots. My 70-200 is my longest lens and doesn't reach that far. :(

I'm wondering when I'm watching full screen why the space bar doesn't pause the show as it should. Instead, the page down button is what pauses the show which is not how it should be working. Puzzling..... Not likely your fault but maybe a Presenter bug or some recent change in those features I missed perhaps?

Mike, did you remake this in Version 5 by any chance? The controls work as they should when viewing an older show of mine but in this one, they work differently. Just wondering.

Two tricks I have found for getting good BIF (Birds In Flight) shots - expensive LONG lens and then throw 99% of the shots away to get that one good shot (but shoot LOTS !! ). Make sure you pick a location if possible so the light is behind you. My 70-300 on my Nikon (DX (1/2 frame)) sensor makes it like a 450 - really wish I had at least a 400 (600 equiv on a 35mm body). Also, make sure you understand exactly how the autofocus in the camera is set (and how it works) - different modes can make a big difference on getting that shot.

Hi,
Very good shots. We've started taking photos of birds. We've a Sigma 150-500mm with a crop sensor 1.6, that gives a telezoom of 800mm. As Mikey said: we have to take several shots to get the good one and to master the camera as well. quetzal :)

Beautiful birds and photography. The Puffin (?) with several fish in his beak made me chuckle. Thanks for a very interesting video! :-)

Hi Mike,
the naturalistic world is always fascinating and, the birds are very photogenic, even if difficult to take back.
Also for me it is very nice the Puffin with all that fishes in the beak.

Lavina, quetzal, chezeury & oeta - thanks for your comments.

Debbie - I do a variety of wildlife and photography talks using shows put together with Producer and use a remote hand controller to control the laptop. In configuring the controls in Producer, the page down button equates to pause on my controller. Hope that explains it.

Gpsmikey - agree with everything you say plus you need lots of patience!
