Problem with Proshow Presenter - help ?? ....SOLVED !!!
I am recently having problem with Presenter - to view ANY Slideshows on Photodex place - even my own.
I am running latest Producer (Ver. 7.0.3519) - & Desktop with Windows 7.
Problem looks like this:
I want to look at a Slideshow (let say thru a posted link), and when I'll click on the show -
Large white rectangle will appear with text: " Photodex Presenter Required to view this show, Click here to install this plug-in."
I will click on second (blue text), then "pxsetup.exe" will load in left bottom corner and this message will come: "Attention - you must run the installer, that you just downloaded ...."
I did "Downloading & Running" - several times, and each time it will tell me, that Presenter is installed correctly....
I am totally buffled !!!
Did anybody has similar problem ?
Can somebody help, please?
Thanks, Alex

Re: Problem with Proshow Presenter - can somebody help ??
Hi Alex,
I had this problem when I switched IE to Google Chrome. I found that I could not play any ProShow shows at all. I have now switched to Firefox and I can play all my shows and other peoples'
Hope this helps,
Rosemary

Exactly the same thing happened to me when I switched to Chrome. After downloading and re installing Presenter a dozen times I realized that I still have IE on my computer. So if there is a show to watch I close Chrome. open IE and watch the show. Not an ideal situation but at least for me it is a work-around.
I hope someone can come up with a soluton for Chrome as Proshow Enthusiasts forum loads so much quicker on Google Chrome.
Cheers, Diane

Diane, be as brave as I was and try Firefox. Works for me and the forum opens quickly - Bonus!

For users of Chrome, there is a TEMPORARY solution:
Copy this text and paste it in the address bar of the browser.
chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
Click on "enable" and close the browser.
The first time that you wish to view a show on the Photodex site, you will get a notification that you must allow the plugin.
Notice the upper right corner of the browser. You will see an icon and the words "plugin blocked".
Click on that icon and choose "Always allow plugins on Photodex. com"
But, as I said, this is a temporary solution because Google advises that because of security issues, it will stop supporting this plugin, after version 45 of Chrome, which will be released later this year.
So, I guess Photodex will need to come up with another solution, or you will have to get used to Firefox
