Instant-Eyedropper

This sounds like something we can make good use of. I haven't tried it out yet, but intend to do so.

I use a tiny free utility called ColorCop that I adore: http://colorcop.net/screenshots/

In a way, it's similar to the built-in Windows eyedropper, but it sits on top of things (small footprint) and retains the hex value so you can use it again and again. One of the many ways I use it is when creating a color solid background to match a spot in the a photo. It also saves a small number of past colors so you can quickly go back to them. I have it down in the Quick Launch bar where I can grab it when necessary.

Just another alternative.
