Lock image to the timeline

Postby peei » Tue Jan 03, 2012 5:11 am

By default, if I change the display time on eg. image No.2, moves of course all subsequent images as much.

But is it possible to lock a picture to a certain time on the timeline.
Let's say I want one image to be displayed between second 23 and second 26, regardless of
how many pictures I have before and no matter how I adjust the transition time and display time on images
before.

Welcome to the forum.

At the present time this is not possible, however many have mentioned it in the past, so you may never know the future may see it possible.

Have you tried timeline view by pressing the TAB key, this is probably the easiest way of moving transistions between slides to a specific time?

Thanks for your reply,,
Yes I have tried the "TAB", but the problem is that it is not possible to make adjustments afterwards
without all the subsequent images end up in wrong time sync. Do you know if it is possible in the Producer?

Peei -

I do not think than PSP can accomplish this either.

Closest that I have come to locking a slide to a particular time slot is to introduce (temporary) blank slides before and/or after the fixed time slot image and manually adjust their timing as necessary to maintain that fixed time for the important (and subsequent) slide(s).

It looks as if there is improvement potential in ProShow Gold/Producer...
I will upgrade when this feature is released.

I would not hold my breath on this request. Although many might want to lock your image to a particular point on a timeline there are a number of practical difficulties to this. In the scheme of things I imagine Photodex sees this as a really low priority request with little benefit to the program (Gold or Producer). That said there always is room for improvement and Photodex is always working on that. However, you might make your request directly to them. It is a feature already requested but the more people making the same request could help change it's assigned priority.

In the meantime, judicious planning and paying attention to what is placed where and when will effectively accomplish what you are trying to do.

It seems as if there is demand, and technically it's probably not difficult to solve.
For me, (and apparently to more users than I), this would be a big improvement.

I realize it has only been about 2 months since this topic was last discussed, but a new program has come out. . .

Can an image be locked to the timeline now?

Thanks for your help,

Drats. Thanks for the quick reply Dale. Guess I stick with making time notes. . .
