description of slide

I used to be able to see the name of the slide and not the slide # in the timeline. Is that possible. I have some duplicates and this would help finding the dups.

The name of a slide will appear only if you specifically gave it a name, or if you applied a style to it.

Otherwise, the default is "Text Slide #"
This default can be changed if you go to:
Edit > Preferences > Appearance > Slide List > Title for Unnamed Slides
Change this to "Use Name of the Top Layer".

Also make sure that you have a check-mark on "Slide Styles Names" > Show applied slide style name in each slide".

If you only have just one picture in your slide, this can help you find your duplicates.
But if you have applied slide styles, or have used some other effect with masks or other decorative layers, this can be rather confusing, because you will not see the name of your picture - just the name of the very first layer. This top layer can be anything, and can create confusing names for you.
