transfer video from dvd into PSG?
I would like to transfer video footage from a dvd into my PSG show. What is required to do this? I've only done one photo video so far (still a newbie). Thanks for all the great tips on this Forum!!

Hi
Welcome to the forum.
There are a couple of ways of getting video of a DVD. If you 'explore' the DVD, after having transferred it to HDrive, you will notice a number of .vob files. These can easily be renmaed to .mpg files and any video editor used to extract the bit you require.
I have used avidemux to 'cut' adverts from a DVD recording of a TV program. Once again it is easy to use. Open one .vob file, the lowest numbered, and it will say there are other linked files, accept this. Then you end up with one continuous file which by using the A and B points a cextion can be marked and saved, or cut from the sequence. The instruction sequence is easy to follow and onec you have the hang of it simple.

Don't forget this is a copy of the DVD on your hdrive, so you still have the original. To save a bit you 'cut' (not preminantly) the beginning you don't want, 'cut' the end you don't want, and save the middle as some file name .mpg. The original stays intact.

Pleased to have been of help.
It is the simplest way I have found of stripping adverts from a DVD recording of a TV show. Once you have got used to 'scrubbing' on the timeline, the frame forward and backwards buttons and setting the markers it is really easy.

Trying to put part of the dvd that I clipped into my psg. I was using avidemux 2.4 and was having problems saving the saved portion of the dvd. Only the first frame of the movie clip was going into my psg show. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!
