Well I installed the update and have already uninstalled and gone back to build 1967!!

I updated mainly because one of the revisions listed on the Photodex site was "Added feature to control width of outlines / highlights on menus". If this feature is actually available in PSG they have it well hidden. I couldn't find it anywhere!

The thing that caused me to go back to build 1967 was that everytime PSG was opened the demo show loaded and there was no option to turn it off. I find this very annoying and prefer PSG to open with a blank show.

I have emailed Photodex regarding these complaints. Will post if I get a reply.

I updated to 1967 and one day later went back to 1942. I could not stand that you could no longer just click on the "copy all to next slide" button. In 1967 you have to match each layer to the next slide. Anyway, unless 1974 has this feature I am not going to update to it. If anyone tries it and it does have this feature again let me know.

Go into the help menu at the top of the program and hit about and it will tell you the build number.

Hi Barbara, just go into your Photodex folder and delete the Demo folder. No more demo show. I done this and it works. You may want to check with Photodex first if you think it's risky.

Thanks Lenmil. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Guess I was thinking it would be more complicated. I never did get a reply from Photodex.

I also noticed the revision list on the Photodex site was changed and "Added feature to control width of outlines / highlights on menus" was removed for PSG. I guess that's just a Producer feature and was listed for Gold by mistake.

Thanks again,
Barbara

Or you could take the "chicken way" that I usually do in a case like
this -- either rename or move the demo folder so Photodex can't find
it, but you still have it if it turns out to be a problem :D

Reply From Photodex

Postby Barbara_K » Thu Aug 16, 2007 8:52 am

I finally received a reply from Photodex.

Barbara,

Thank you for contacting Photodex.

The listed revision was a error. Our website has been updated and the
said revision has been removed from the list.

http://www.photodex.com/support/revisio ... index.html

The demo show you are now seeing when ProShow Gold loads will be present
in future builds of ProShow Gold. There are no options to uncheck for
the viewing of the demo show.

Please let me know if you need further assistance or have additional
questions.

Sincerely,

Joseph Marrero

I deleted the Demo folder and everything works fine. I sent a reply to Photodex that I thought having the Demo show load every time PSG is opened is ridiculous. Who wants to watch the demo every time?

I wonder if that is going to be one of their selling points for why you
should buy Producer instead of Gold (and if they will add a check in
a future build of Gold to make sure the demo folder is still there).
Almost sounds like they want to force you to watch it from the email
you got from them.

LOL! That wouldn't surprise me but how many times can you watch a demo? Do you know if the Producer build 1974 loads the demo at startup too?

Seems to me someone said Producer had an option to turn it off,
but I have not been brave enough yet to install 1974, so I'm not sure.
I think the comment was made over in the Yahoo Producer group
yesterday.

I would go with Mikey's option then. Rename the folder or add a folder and put it in there in case you need it later on.
