Pictures to EXE
Okay all you super techies out there........ can someone PLEASE explain in the very simplest of terms what Picture to EXE means. I seem to be seeing this everywhere. Who uses it and for what? Why use it? How do you use it? etc.

It's a software application. Some people combine effects from PicturesToExe with ProShow projects since it does some things ProShow doesn't.

Its a slide show application. It makes slideshows too but is different than proshow in the way that it does it.

I can't remember for sure, but either TheDom or Jeep uses it quite
a bit and likes it a lot. I purchased PTE (Pictures To Exe) about 3 years
ago (same time I originally purchased Proshow Gold). While I liked
PTE better as an exe (and it had some neat effects), it did not have any
form of video out (mpeg2 or avi) so I ended up using Gold when I made
the memorial show for my mom. The line has since become quite "fuzzy"
in that PTE can also create video in several formats. They have their site
as well as another one with quite a few example shows on. Both Photodex
and PTE are good programs. For now, I am using Producer and am
reasonably happy with it (but I still have a copy of PTE and will probably
upgrade that to the current version as well). You can never have too
many tools or gadgets !! This forum is specifically oriented towards the
Photodex side of things. PTE has it's own forums also.

Thanks for the post
I did check out the pictures to exe site. Did not bother to download any samples because I just don't have any more time to play with any more programs. It is amazing how many things are out there and how one can just go crazy with all of it. I am a bead artist (my book is now available) and I think I did some of my most creative things when I had very little to work with. Once I built an inventory of supplies that overflows two rooms, I became overwhelmed with all of the choices and could not possibly put is all in front of me anymore. that is how I am feeling about all of the slideshow effects and choices. Every time I look at a sample show I "have to have it" or figure it out. I am still new here and learning everyday. I have to literally pull myself away. My perfectionist nature keeps me tweaking and tweaking and before I know it, two hours have passed. I know I am not alone on this one. I hope I am not anyway.
And yes, the dom uses it alot. I downloaded a bunch of his masks. They are great.
Thanks so much for being there for me and for us.
Hey would you look quickly at the very beginning of a slide show I am working on for a teacher friend of mine who teaches an enrichment program at our local elementary school? the show is just the intro and three transition slides that will be used at the start of different sections. I wanted her to hear the song I chose so after the last slide I inserted all blank slides. It is a beautiful song. I am waiting for her send me the pictures of past classes to insert along the way.

Looks good to me -- only thing that bothered me a little (and I
can't figure out exactly why) was the opening title, for lack of
a better term coming from behind me onto the screen. You
might want to try a different one (or maybe it's just me) ?
What might work better is sort of a reverse of the second one.
On the second one, the title is there then "explodes" or whatever
that is. Might try that as the start of the first title then it would
match with the end of the second title. Just a thought. Otherwise,
looks great.
