Note that in addition to what they say they support, there may
be additional formats you can import depending on which other
codecs have been installed in your system. Someone not too
long ago (Andy?) found that after installing some flash converion
utility was able to import flash files into his show (for the rest of
us, we still got the "unsupported format" message). YMMV

That is good to know. How would you go about finding the codec for something you wanted to have supported? Thanks Mikey...hugs Nanny

I'm not exactly sure since I have not played with that aspect of
it before. I just remember (I think it was Andy) was able to
insert flash files on his timeline and no one else could and we
found that he had installed some flash utility that apparently
provided the codec. This was several months back and I don't
remember the exact topic. I "think" that Proshow can use whatever
codecs are installed on your system. If you search through the
forum for "codec" you will probably find quite a bit - I'm not
sure how much will make sense but it should give you some
ideas. I don't know that it can use installed codecs for output
though. Another area I need to spend some time puttering.
Too much puttering to do and not enough hours :?

Hi Guys!

Hey Mikey, Jan and all!
I've been away on business, just getting back last night. There are a ton of new posts that I have yet to get to.

Mikey that was me that was able to import flash (.flv). I was surprised when it was accepted as a supported file type, it's not on the list. I had tried to use an .avi of the same material without success. Then I tried to convert the .flv version to .avi without success. In a last ditch effort, I thought, what the hell, I'll just drop in the .flv to see. By golly it worked???? I've since used .flv files several times. I can not explain how or why. I do have two flash players installed Macromedia/Adobe and FLVPlayer. Maybe the right codec came with the install?

I've missed everyone, I'm not sure I'll ever catch up on the postings. A lot of new members too! Welcome everyone! :)
