Captoin and Wedding Picture Shows
Caption enquiry again sorry lol
i saw a show with a caption on it making it appear as if an invisable hand was writing the text on the screen.
Does anyone know how to do this
Fluid elegant text writing?
Any tips much appreciated

Mark Ridout is the master of wedding slideshows not to mention his fabulous photos. Here is a link:

The text writing can be achieved but it is very laborious and intense to do. Hence, you don't see it in my shows LOL. There is a thread here somewhere but I couldn't find it this morning....cheers Jan

I believe this thread describes the writing effect you are looking for.

Here is the link to a signature intro I did.
http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewsho ... 7453&alb=0
Here is how I did it.
I did this in Photoshop Elements 4.0. There
are 129 frames that make up the signature. It is a slow process,
however, the results are worth it (IMHO). What you have to do is
first type out the name. Make sure you are on a transparent
background. Copy that name onto a new layer and erase
everything but the first stroke (which, for me,was the top half of
the baseline of the letter "P"). Then erase the rest of the name.
Then I took the wand and placed it at the bottom (you can skip this part if
you do not want a graphic to look like it is writing the words). Then I recopied the
background layer and created layer 2. I then would continue by
leaving the whole baseline stroke the letter P (this includes the top
part that was on layer 1 and now the bottom half of that baseline)
and erase the rest of the name. Then I would add the wand at the
bottom of the baseline (again, optional). Then go back to the background layer and
create Layer 3. You do this over and over until you get through the
name. Sometimes I would change the opacity of the layer I was working
on so I could see where I left off from the previous layer, then I
would change the opacity back to 100% when I was done with that
layer. Each layer will be saved as a separate PNG file. The reason I
used PNG was because you can keep the transparent background. If you
save as a JPG file, it will have a solid color background behind the
letters. You then go into ProShow Producer (or Gold) and create a
video of your signature. Each slide was .07 seconds and the
transitions were Cut at 0.00.

Not sure what you mean by transparent borders? Do you mean frame where the middle is transparent? Cheers Jan

Although written a long time ago now, this link may be of help in producing borders with an internal transparent area in CS2.

If you use the PanosFx puzzle action within CS2 it will produce a puzzle of the picture with a piece on separate layers. If you import this .psd file into Producer it will put each piece on a separate layer. It is then a matter of 'motion' on the selected layers.
Hope this helps
Brian
EDIT: Forget this see post three below.

Memory has served me very bad
A .psd file does not load with layers intact into Producer. I have had a PM from Em (Lovefall2000) about the same comment.
I can't remember doing it in the past, but must have done. Each layer in a .psd file has to be saved separately and imported separately into a Producer slide. Can be quite labourious (sp?) for PanosFx 'jigsaw' and 'big picture' Photoshop actions.
Sorry about the misinformation. There is never a shortcut when the going gets hard.
