Recomendations for a music catalog/atabse tool?
As time goes by, no pun intended, my digital music library grow larger and larger. I used to use Music Match Jukebox and was pretty happy with it. It simply showed my stuff and could do a quick search. Then they sold out to Yahoo. Even Yahoo's media player wasn't too bad for organizing. But they sold out to another one...and so and so on, etc,, etc,, etc,...
I've tried using Windows Media Player, but am not too happy with it.
I also have Creative Media Sourc, but doing a search is exhausting it's so slow.
Can anyone recommend a down and dirty jukebox type media player? Although I wouldn't turn my nose up, I don't care about the bells and whitsles. My primary objective is to see my music and be able to search through it somewhat quickly.
Anyone know anything about Media monkey?
Thanx in advance for any help,
Bill

For what it's worth, I swear by iTunes. It allows me great playback (w/equalizer), organizing the database by many, many, variables, and it also allows to set up playlists, rip and burn CD's. I know the bad rap it gets about DRM, but it has improved.
PSP 7, Photoshop CS6, Nikon D3100.

I enjoy MediaMonkey. There is a free version, however the paid version gives you new file monitoring. This is extremely convenient when you are always adding new music. I have over 17 thousand songs and it loads quick & I can find music quick. Great music player with sound level...etc...

Thanx for your responses.
I've helped my daughter with her iTunes and even had to use it for downloading songs for montages. Very propriatary and frustrating. I do like the clean interface, though.
I downloaded mediamonkey and I'm liking it a lot. I have 135GB of music and I get lightening quick searches. Is the paid version worth it? Thanx for the recomendation on it.

Yes, the paid version is worth it.... I've been using the PAID version for over 2 years & I'm very satisfied. I purchased a lifetime license because I like it that much....

Thanx, Guy. I had made the mistake of not buying all future version of Music Match. I then wound up paying more. I won't do that again.
Do the MediaMonkey people ever offer discount coupons? I see a place to enter one, but not sure if they're around.
